“Worst ever”, “never before seen”, and similar phrases are commonly heard in our broadcasts. Often, these superlatives prove to be false. A few days ago, a FEMA administrator said getting food and water to the people of Puerto Rico was the biggest logistical problem in U.S. history. That, of course, is so false as to be ridiculous. (D-Day, Hoover Dam, Interstate Highway System, Shuttle Launches…..and the list goes on and on.)
