Back in the day, radio reporters carried goofy wire leads with alligator clips to record interviews from telephones. That was back when tape recorders were state-of-the-art, long before the advent of digital recording and digital audio procession.
Technology has given us many new (and far easier) ways to record interviews. Here’s a link to a quick TED-talk tutorial on the latest method. You have to enter an e-mail address, but they will not spam you.

Here we go again: another round of rookie TV folks this morning pronouncing it “an-TEE-go”. Nothing shows your inexperience more than mispronouncing the name of a Wisconsin city.
